PRIVATE COACHING

Private voice over coaching with Scott offers the unique opportunity to engage with a variety of acting techniques and performance styles acquired over his accomplished career.

Your full one-hour session will be customized for your particular needs and wants. Commercial, Narration and Character performance training are the most common sessions requested, but Scott also offers “Next Steps” advice for those seeking marketing as well. Perhaps you need assistance with audio editing or need help with how to properly acoustically treat your recording space on a budget…he can help there too.

Prior to the agreed upon date/time of performance coaching you’ll be asked to provide your age-range or even a simple audio sample of your voice to help determine which scripts your voice and persona would be most appropriate for.

Scott will email you up to seven scripts along with a Zoom link prior to your scheduled session to enable you to get familiar with the copy, but asked that you not over-rehearse them. Human brains can get locked into ruts with repetitive actions and reading aloud can fall victim to it! It’s best to ‘workshop it’ when analyzing copy!

Your private coaching session is recorded and will be sent to you for your own private review. These videos are recommended for review so that you may actually hear how you’re reaching the ears of others. Just as athletes review footage of themselves in action, it’s wise as vocal performers to catch things we could improve upon, or better…are totally nailing!

Scott does not require any set amount of ‘package’ sessions but rather prefers an as-requested approach. A bi-weekly approach has proven to be a popular choice for many talent, offering information to sink in and put to practice. His goal is to get you ‘graduated’ to where you’re ready to fly on your own, but of course leaving the door open for maintenance sessions you may deem necessary.

Another very popular addition to Scott’s private coaching is the inclusion of his “Fauxdition” training. Fake (or Faux) auditions are sent to you during the week containing a script and specs that you’ll record and return for a complete review in your next scheduled session with Scott. Your review will include the quality of your audio recording and performance as well as how well you followed direction pertaining to file labeling, due dates and other auditioning protocols. This real-world experience is invaluable for when you start working with agents and casting directors, even if you’re already a working voice actor.

Your coaching investment is requested in advance of the session. Please contact Scott to confer on best payment methods. Meanwhile… Have an important audition you really REALLY hope to book? Let Scott direct you through the copy and record as you go to assure you’re giving the potential client what they’re hoping to hear! Your investment is based on 15 minute increments too…so once your reads are dialed in and deemed worthy of their “selects” folder the clock stops there. A follow up email with your final edited audition is requested, but not mandatory for review.

If you are new to the industry and seeking an assessment of your voice, marketability and realistic steps to gain footing, a one-hour private coaching session would be considered a wise investment.
